A few other thoughts:
- When asking others to co-organize, be really clear on what the roles & responsibilities will look like. This could include weekly time commitments, knowledge of & experience with forecasting, how often you want them to stay in communication with you, etc.
- In the early stages of a group, you might need to ask people to help out even if they aren't fully committed to organizing for the club or a great fit for community building. However, it’s often best to wait until you know a person's interest, experience, and ability, as well as your personal capacity for working with them before asking them to take on a significant responsibility of being a co-organizer. People who are less committed, experienced, and capable — or not able to work well with you — might be less likely to perform their duties reliably and carefully, make decisions that don’t align with your goals, and potentially hurt the group’s reputation by appearing unenthusiastic or sharing inaccurate information.
- When you do have a group of organizers, it’s worth investing time into ensuring the team works well together — run social events, take care of them as co-organizers and as friends, and enjoy your time running the club.
